Why is Atlantis, The Palm a world away from the everyday?

  • Published 16 February 2018

Luxury is lost no more as Atlantis, The Palm well and truly delivers. This marine-themed resort brings myth to reality from the moment you step into the hotel lobby. As soon as you enter you’ll be treated to the sounds of the trickling fountains, footsteps on the marble floor and squeals of delight from happy holiday makers both young and old. The underwater theme can be seen upon arrival with pillars inspired by oversized koi carp and bright marine-esque mosaics on the walls. In the middle of the pillars an ornate 10-metre high sculpture designed by Dale Chihuly is featured. With more than 3,000 hand blown pieces of colourful glass, this intricate attention to detail is just a teaser for what the hotel has to offer.

Guests of Atlantis, The Palm have visited from more than 227 different countries, but why? Promising to offer a world away from your everyday we delve deep into this integrated entertainment resort to discover what makes it tick.

MAKE HOLIDAY MEMORIES

There’s plenty to keep you entertained at Atlantis, The Palm so boredom certainly isn’t on the agenda here. The hotel is 64 times the size of Wembley Stadium and offers a plethora of restaurants, activities and one-of-a-kind experiences. Take advantage of the unlimited complimentary access to Aquaventure Waterpark or book a few treatments at ShuiQi Spa and Fitness Centre and get whisked away to a world outside of your normal four walls.

Within the hotel there are 40 boutiques, to keep shopaholics satisfied as well as a range of family-friendly activities including packages at The Lost Chambers Aquarium, Dolphin Bay, Aquaventure Waterpark and Sea Lion Point. And for children, there are two age-specific kids’ clubs to keep those ages between two and 18 entertained.

For couples, why not relish the panoramic views of Dubai with a helicopter tour or alternatively take to the waters with a yacht and boat cruise along the Arabian Sea. Or, if you prefer to keep your feet firmly on land, there are also tennis courts to please all sports enthusiasts wanting to perfect their serve.

Aquaventure Waterpark

42-acres of wet and wild fun is just waiting to be had at Aquaventure Waterpark. Awarded the number one water park in the Middle East, here you can almost guarantee a thrilling time.

To pump up the adrenaline, Aquaconda is a must. Proudly the world’s largest tube waterslide at 9.2 metres wide and more than 200 metres in length, this ride sees you take your seat in a giant inflatable, that seats up to six riders, before enjoying plenty of twists and turns in order to get to the bottom. Reaching a maximum speed of 21 miles per hour, this one’s great for an adventurous family.

For an even faster ride, head to Poseidon’s Revenge where you’ll be plummeted vertically in a capsule at 40 miles per hour. How’s that for adrenaline? And if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, why not strap yourself on to the longest zip line circuit in the Middle East? The Atlantean Flyer Zip Line offers amazing views of the hotel, the beachfront and the Dubai skyline... and dinner party bragging rights for years to come.

Finally, cool off from the Dubai heat in the inviting pool. Creating swells higher than a metre, The Torrent wave generator will add an element of fun to your afternoon dip. Ride the waves, hear the laughter of others and fully immerse yourself in this marine paradise.

At Aquaventure Waterpark, even the smallest members of the party are catered for thanks to Splasher’s Children’s Play Area. Here there are plenty of open and closed waterslides that are big enough for parents to ride with small children on their laps, as well as climbing frames, hanging bridges and water cannons to play with. Oh, and there’s only one way to end a day of family fun. Under the Big Bucket of Splash of course! Comprising two tipping buckets that send 1,000 litres of water gushing down over you, you won’t be needing a shower afterwards, that’s for sure.

Fun facts:

  • 18 million litres of water make up Aquaventure
  • The park has a 2.3km river ride that it takes 45 minutes to float around it’s entirety
  • Aquaventure is also home to the world’s largest tube waterslide

The floor-to-ceiling windows that look out directly to Ambassador’s Lagoon can be found in the bathroom, lounge and bedroom and are sure to take your breath away. You’ll literally be sleeping with the fishes as manta rays, sharks and any other of the 65,000-exotic marine life pop by to say hello, swimming around the ruins of the mythical lost city.

The suites are stretched out over three floors that are accessible via an in-suite elevator or a lavish, sweeping staircase. Bathrooms are equally as extravagant with marble tubs and walk-in showers. The suites are spacious and grand, however there are interconnecting rooms available catering to families and larger groups.

Underwater Suite

For a truly one-of-a-kind experience the Underwater Suites are nothing short of spectacular. The suites are named after Greek Gods with the choice of staying in either Poseidon or Neptune. Both offer the same benefits, jaw dropping décor and enough room for up to five guests.

Unique in every sense of the word instead of art work adorning the walls, here you have feature aquariums.
