Ultra Luxury Miami Holidays

Where the trendsetters flock, the artistic muse and the fashionable descend, Miami is one of America’s most cosmopolitan cities. With inspirations from its Caribbean neighbours such as Haiti and Trinidad alongside its strong Cuban community, the city is a melting pot of culture, fashion and flamboyance.

Although most major cities claim to offer something for all, Miami is one of the few that truly delivers. Don’t believe us? Simply pitch up at one of the lively bars on Ocean Drive or sit outside a quaint café in Little Havana and watch the world – and people – go by. Because in Miami, people watching isn’t a delightful pastime… it’s a sport. We challenge you to see a more diverse crowd in one hour. Couples, families, foodies, hipsters, hippies, artists. It’s like bingo but for the crowds of society.

A backdrop of meringue-pink and lemon-sherbet Art Deco buildings dating back to the early ‘20s and ‘30s set against the twinkling azure ocean creates a colourful outlook throughout the city – one which somehow marries the American dream with coffee drinking and salsa dancing.

There’s no hiding it: Miami is lively. But only if you choose for it to be. By day, don your most fabulous swimwear and check-out Nikki Beach or Delano Beach Club, and when night falls there are plenty of stylish restaurants, neon-front bars and thumping super-clubs to entertain.

Lining Ocean Drive, the variety for food and drinks is as varied as the coloured supercars which slowly pass by, but our favourite hangout is easily Gianni’s at The Villa Casa Casuarina. With a menu that offers a delicious blend of Italian flavours, the food beautifully complements the stunning aesthetic of Versace’s former residence.

If retail is your therapy of choice, Miami has malls and boutiques by the bucket load. And for those all-important bargains, drive 45-minutes from South Beach to Sawgrass Mills for premium outlets spread across 2.3 million square feet.

Art is fast-becoming one of Miami’s famous exports with museums, galleries and installations popping up more frequent than dollars into the Kardashians’ bank account. And while we could list our top pick of must-visits, if you’re only planning on passing through one make sure it’s Wynwood Walls. These colourful graffiti street murals have been designed by artists from around the globe and are the ideal spot to test out your new Nikon.

If nature is more your speed, Everglades National Park has a tour to suit all, plus it’s within close proximity to Florida Keys – the ideal spot for snorkelling and scuba diving. We can’t think of a box that Miami doesn’t tick. And yes, there are daily direct flights from London.

Miami In A Nutshell

Family Fun Guaranteed

Enjoy some educational fun at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. An interactive museum with high-tech exhibits that’ll entertain all ages. There’s also an aquarium to help teach all about the marine world, our footprint and its impact.

For younger kids, the Children’s Museum opens a world of imaginative play. Interact with the shrunk city where children can play pretend at the grocery store, vets, bank and more. A fantastic way to play away from the Miami heat.

Cool off from the summer sun at one of the waterparks in the city. With an abundance of water slides, swimming pools and food and beverage options, Grapeland Water Park is a good day trip for all the family, from tots to teens. Alternatively, Tidal Cove Waterpark located with JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa has a Flow Rider where you can test your surfing skills and bring out a little healthy family competition.

After Dark Destinations

Ocean Drive is Miami’s beating heart, and after dark it comes alive wit neon lights and thumping beats. Palace Bar & Restaurant offers nightly drag performances while The Clevelander Bar is a spot to dance until the sun rises.

Liv located inside Fontainebleau Miami is a celebrity favourite. This superclub has been frequented by Drake, The Kardashians, Leonardo Dicaprio, George Clooney and more.

Tastes To Try

An authentic taste of Japan and the best cocktails in Miami can be found at Zuma located within the Kimpton Hotel. Expect the classic menu of sashimi, sushi wagyu beef and more in an elegant setting. Reservations required.

Other celebrity favourite Miami restaurants include Nobu, STK and Carbone.

However, for an authentic taste of Miami, visit Joe’s Stone Crab. Established in 1913, it was the only restaurant on Collins Avenue, and served exceptional fish sandwiches. The family-run business grew and now, more than 100 years later, it’s a legacy and must visit in Miami.

frequently asked questions

The best time to visit Miami is from December to February for mild temperatures, sunny skies, and major events like Art Basel. Alternatively, March to May offers pleasant weather and fewer crowds. June to November sees lower room rates, however the weather is hot and humid with potential hurricanes.

Miami is a varied destination and there’s something for all. It’s a great stopover city and hub for cruises. We highly recommend enjoying a day or two prior to boarding your boat. Equally, it’s perfect to twin with Orlando. Three-nights in Miami followed by 10-nights in Orlando is a fantastic itinerary, and you can drive between destinations taking just three and a half hours by car. Or enjoy a short one-hour flight. If you’re planning on visiting Miami and then home, we would recommend a minimum of five-nights.
Don't miss a private yacht charter for a personalized tour of Miami's waterways, a VIP experience at the Miami Open tennis tournament, and an exclusive spa day at the Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau. These experiences provide ultimate relaxation and a taste of Miami's high life.
