Ultra Luxury Turks and Caicos Holidays

The Turks and Caicos Islands is a British Overseas Territory located in the North Atlantic on the southern tip of the Bahamian archipelago, comprising two groups of islands and cays: the Turks Islands and the Caicos Islands. Six of the eight major islands are inhabited, but sparsely so, with Providenciales as its energetic hub and the home of spectacular beaches, world-class diving opportunities, luxury resorts, and delectable fine dining.

On Providenciales you’ll be immediately drawn to the critically acclaimed Grace Bay Beach, which is often listed as the world’s best and features implausibly perfect white sands and pristine waters. This breathtaking swathe spans more than three miles offers a host of beachfront dining options, gorgeous resort and hotels, and loads of water sports to try.

With all that beautiful shoreline and glass-like water, it’s no wonder that the Turks and Caicos Islands is a premier diving and snorkelling destination. Vibrant coral reefs and a rich marine life present a flawless underwater world to explore, and there are many top sites to discover during your stay. Smith’s Reef is located on Providenciales’ northern coast and boasts several reef systems that cater to all experience levels. You’ll likely come across colourful tropical fish such as angelfish, parrotfish, and barracuda, as well as graceful sea turtles, lobsters, and stingrays. Night-time snorkelling excursions are also popular to catch glimpses of squid and octopus!

Providenciales is a wonderful destination for gourmet dining and boasts a wealth of upscale restaurants that serve a wide range of cuisines like Mediterranean and Asian dishes, as well as plenty of fresh seafood with Caribbean flair. You’ll find many of these fine dining venues on and around Grace Bay Beach in picturesque settings, which overlook ocean, lagoons, and coves, promising ambience and sophistication for every meal.

Turks and Caicos Islands In A Nutshell

The Turks and Caicos Islands’ beaches are world-renowned, with the incomparable Grace Bay Beach as its main attraction. Not only does this slice of paradise present some of the most flawless scenery you’ll have ever laid eyes on, there’s also plenty going on. Enjoy amazing water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding, fine dining at a luxury resort, and boutique shopping along the seafront.

Want a more low-key setting for beachside bliss? Head further along the coast to Leeward Beach on the northernmost tip of Providenciales. This unfussy spot is great for effortless relaxation in the sunshine without the throng of tourists around Grace Bay Beach. Further south lies a great all-rounder, Long Bay Beach, with three miles of soft sands and sparkling waters that afford a great day out for all the family, including various activities such as kiteboarding and guided horseback rides.

Eating is a serious affair here, and you’ll be able to find fabulous cuisine to suit any mood. The highest concentration of restaurants, bars, and cafés lies in Providenciales, and ranges from five-star resort establishments to casual bars and grills right on the beach.

Da Conch Shack is a much-loved Turks and Caicos hangout located in Blue Hills that exudes a truly laid-back Caribbean vibe. Here, you can dine with the sand between your toes underneath swaying palm trees and soak up the island ambience. Coco Bistro is another popular haunt set within a tranquil coconut grove in Grace Bay, serving up an array of gourmet Caribbean and international fusion dishes, which include fresh seafood options, alongside an impressive wine list.

For a fine dining experience, head to Seven, located at the Seven Stars Resort. This elegant restaurant serves traditional Caribbean-inspired plates merged with international flavours, and a not-too-shabby cocktail menu to boot! Afterwards, take a night-time stroll along nearby Grace Bay Beach to help work off that dessert.

Be one with the locals and seek out the incredible Thursday Fish Fry festivities, then gather to dine on fresh seafood and dance to live music. This beloved event showcases the very best of the islands’ culinary offerings, rich culture, and energetic community spirit.

Snorkelling and diving opportunities are plentiful in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and you can do so from the ease of the beach or on a leisurely private yacht cruise. Smith’s Reef is a firm favourite, as is The Bight Reef, also known as Coral Gardens, which promises great snorkelling to see the habitats of sea turtles, stingrays, the odd nurse shark, and a gamut of colourful fish.

Near the Leeward area of Providenciales sits Little Water Cay, also known as Iguana Island for its profusion of captivating rock iguanas, an endangered species native to the Turks and Caicos. It’s a great excuse for a short boat trip out, with its gorgeous beaches, nature trails, and, of course, the thousands of fascinating lizards!
