The real reason why you should go to the Singapore Grand Prix

  • Published 21 March 2019

Impossibly fast speeds in a setting of splendour is the standard for any Grand Prix around the world. Choosing which one to immerse yourself in can be tough, with such high calibre of track, motors, service and stays at them all, from Monaco and Abu Dhabi, to Australia and good old Britain. But the Singapore Grand Prix guarantees a getaway full of exhilaration and excitement, and not just for the petrolheads, with a festival-worthy line up of entertainment. Some of the world’s biggest musical stars are heading to the jewel of southeast Asia from the 20th-22nd September… the question is will you be there too?

Race. Party. Repeat. That’s the motto for the Singapore Grand Prix

Let us give you the rundown of world-class artists heading to the glitz and glamour of Singapore. International dance trio, Swedish House Mafia, who announced their return at the end of 2018, will bring their incredible live show to the Padang Stage on the first day of the Grand Prix, belting global hits such as “Don’t You Worry Child” and “Save The World” to the partying crowd. Come the second night and you can look forward to one of the world’s leading rock bands, Muse, with more than 20 million album sales, gracing the stage to perform their catalogue of legendary songs.

For those more into pop anthems, Cardi B is another headliner of the show, and we can bet you’ll stir envy in anyone you know the moment you post a live video of her rapping to “I Like It” on the Saturday night. Red Hot Chilli Peppers are the USA’s offering of immense talent, closing up the weekend of motor-music festivities with their huge collection of worldwide hits including “Californication,” “Can’t Stop” and “Under the Bridge.” Other acts playing throughout the weekend across various stages include Fatboy Slim, Hans Zimmer and Toots and the Maytals.

Race. Party. Repeat. That’s the motto for the Singapore Grand Prix, and with more than 100 hours of non-stop stellar entertainment across the nine stages throughout the Circuit Park, along with various stages and areas of excitement and fun. Why not jump on the Singapore Flyer and grab some authentic Asian cuisine in between the acts you want to see - we can guarantee this will be an experience to remember. The 799,000 square metre Circuit Park will be hosting other entertainment acts too, including an illusion magician and DJ’s. Heston Blumenthal will also be leading the gastronomic line-up at the exclusive Paddock Club, where he will be showcasing his culinary debut with The Hind’s Head, so you can be sure to fill up on some outstanding flavours and delightful textures before you head back out to the track.

There are a variety of different ticket options depending on who you’re itching to see. Zone 4 is home to the Padang Stage, accessible to all ticket holders and is really the beating heart of the Singapore Grand Prix. If you want a more VIP-style experience, head to Zone 1 which houses the Wharf Stage where Fatboy Slim and Hans Zimmer will be performing. As soon as you have the golden ticket, you’ll be able to enjoy the thrill of the day racing knowing that you can dance the night away in the vast performance area, looking like a scene straight out of Glastonbury, food stalls and all.
