What will happen to international travel on 4th October 2021?

On 17th September, the UK Government announced changes to international travel and the traffic light system where countries are divided into colour codes; red, amber and green.


From 4th October 2021, this will be replaced with a single Red List of countries. The rules for travelling to countries NOT on the Red List will depend on vaccination status.

 

FOR FULLY VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

If you are completely vaccinated for a minimum of 14 days prior to travelling overseas, when returning to the UK from a country NOT on the Red List you must:

•    Book and pay for a Day 2 Covid-19 test 
•    Complete a passenger locator form 48-hours prior to arrival
•    Take a Covid-19 test on or before day 2 after your arrival in the UK

You do not need to:
•    Take a pre-departure test
•    Take a day 8 Covid-19 test
•    Quarantine
 

FOR FULLY VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

If you are completely vaccinated for a minimum of 14 days prior to travelling overseas, when returning to the UK from a country NOT on the Red List you must:

•    Book and pay for a Day 2 Covid-19 test 
•    Complete a passenger locator form 48-hours prior to arrival
•    Take a Covid-19 test on or before day 2 after your arrival in the UK

You do not need to:
•    Take a pre-departure test
•    Take a day 8 Covid-19 test
•    Quarantine
 

FOR NON-VACCINATED TRAVELLERS 

If you are non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated, when returning to the UK from a country NOT on the Red List you must:

•    Take a pre-departure test up to 72-hours before returning to England
•    Book and pay for a day 2 and day 8 Covid-19 test
•    Complete a passenger locator form 48-hours prior to arrival
•    Quarantine at home for 10 days
•    Take a Covid-19 test on day 2 and day 8 of quarantine

Quarantine can end early on day 5 with a negative result of an additional Covid-19 test under the Test To Release scheme.
 

FOR NON-VACCINATED TRAVELLERS 

If you are non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated, when returning to the UK from a country NOT on the Red List you must:

•    Take a pre-departure test up to 72-hours before returning to England
•    Book and pay for a day 2 and day 8 Covid-19 test
•    Complete a passenger locator form 48-hours prior to arrival
•    Quarantine at home for 10 days

FROM MONDAY 11th OCTOBER ONWARDS: 
Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.
