After the world was shocked by the pandemic, we all made changes to our daily lives. From not leaving our homes to socialising via video calls, the world almost stood still. With the biggest spike of COVID-19 hopefully behind us, we can focus on rebuilding, and the tourism industry is certainly leading the way. Each airline, destination and individual hotel has its own guidelines and safety measures in place, and we’re pleased to share Jumeirah resort Dubai’s latest changes to ensure your safety for your next visit.

“Jumeirah Al Naseem is the first hotel in the world to receive the Safeguard Label, and we will be working closely with Bureau Veritas over the coming weeks to certify our wider portfolio.”

What you should expect upon arrival

On arrival at any Jumeirah Dubai Resort, you will notice all staff are wearing masks and respecting social distancing when greeting you, and this is to be expected of all guests when using the shared hotel areas such as reception and the lifts.

To make this as simple as possible, masks are available from numerous points across the hotels, for all guests’ convenience. And when using the lift, the resort asks that you allow the guest in front of you to travel alone.

As well as this, the staff will also conduct regular temperature checks and are tripling the volume of fresh air in public areas by fogging them from one to three times per day, dependent on footfall.

Jumeirah Resort’s health practices are regularly audited by two hygiene and safety industry giants – Bureau Veritas and Ecolab – to ensure the highest standard is met throughout the present circumstances. These new policies and procedures have been rolled out for all of Jumeirah resort’s fantastic properties including Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, Jumeirah Beach, Jumeirah Al Naseem, Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, Jumeirah Al Qasr and Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf.

Jumeirah Al Naseem

The five-star hotel was the first in the world to receive the prestigious Bureau Veritas Safeguard Label on 25th May 2020.

José Silva, Chief Executive Officer of Jumeirah Group, said: “The safety of our guests and colleagues has always been our utmost priority. We have a longstanding relationship with Bureau Veritas, working with them since 2018 to oversee our HACCP certification for food safety and implementing health, safety and environment compliance audits globally.

“The current situation requires us to go even further to validate the protective measures in place and achieving the Bureau Veritas Safeguard Label is an important step in restoring confidence and demonstrating our commitment to operate our hotels to the highest global standards.

“Jumeirah Al Naseem is the first hotel in the world to receive the Safeguard Label, and we will be working closely with Bureau Veritas over the coming weeks to certify our wider portfolio.”

The new safety measures span the entirety of the resort, from the rooms and central areas to the pool, beach and restaurants.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

One of the city’s most popular family hotels, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, is reopen for guests. Opening its doors back in July, it was proud to share that it had been further enhanced by securing the Safeguard Label from Bureau Veritas, an internationally renowned leader of testing, inspection and certification services, for the resorts Beit Al Bahar Villas, The J Club and Al Marsa Beach. The resort is taking every measure to ensure that this safeguard is extended to the remainder of its facilities in due course.

Upon arrival, all guests are temperature checked and are required to wear adequate face coverings when transiting public areas. Social distancing measures must always be adhered to while in the resort, which is made easier with sun loungers and restaurant tables already spaced a safe distance apart.

The Penthouses at Jumeirah Al Naseem

June 2020 saw Jumeirah add to its fantastic range of accommodation options with its new penthouses in Jumeirah Al Naseem. The Ocean Penthouse and the Royal Penthouse are the two new jewels in the resort’s crown.

The Ocean Penthouse is suitable for two adults, and booking this room category offers complimentary transfers to and from Dubai International Airport; personal in-suite check-in and check-out; a dedicated guest experience manager available throughout your stay; unlimited access to Summersalt Beach Club and Wild Wadi Waterpark; and club lounge access and benefits including complimentary afternoon tea and sundowners.

Space is certainly not an issue with the penthouse, and nor is privacy, as you benefit from a outdoor terrace with infinity pool that offers Burj Al Arab Jumeirah views and an outdoor/indoor fitness studio.

The Royal Penthouse, however, can sleep up to 14 adults (or 10 adults and 8 children). With five grand bedrooms, a private terrace, an indoor/outdoor fitness studio and an 11-metre infinity pool you’ll want for nothing here. Offering all the same benefits of the Ocean Penthouse, with this option you will also enjoy dedicated elevator access!

So, for the ultimate post-COVID getaway, where you can soak up the delights of Dubai but away from the crowds, Jumeirah’s newest addition is just what the doctor ordered.

Are there any other travel updates I should know?

The safety measures at Jumeirah’s resorts are top notch, and you can feel safe in the knowledge that every member of staff in the hotel group’s portfolio is taking every caution to ensure all guests and colleagues safety. This same level of care from the hotel industry is matched by the airlines that service the destination, too.

It is worth noting that the current Dubai Government guidelines state that all visitors to the country must complete a health declaration form and have proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 96-hours prior to travel. You will be checked for this via your airline before being able to leave your departure country.

You must also present a negative COVID-19 PCR test to be able to return to the UK, taking this while in Dubai at either a testing centre in the city or organising for someone to come to your hotel and undertake the test in the privacy of your room or suite.
