Opening its doors in February 2023, with a star-studded ceremony no less, Winged Boots’ managing director David Ox was thrilled to be given the opportunity to stay at Atlantis The Royal Dubai a few months after its grand reveal. He shares his honest review on the resort… including why he can’t wait to return.

“I was very fortunate to stay at Atlantis The Royal hotel for four nights, just three months after it had opened. I stayed in a one-bedroom suite, complete with butler service. My suite also had a huge terrace that framed amazing Palm views. However, the showstopper for me was the all-marble bathroom complete with double vanity. It was incredible.”

Welcome to the suite life

“All suite and club room guests receive an amazing hotel welcome. You’re taken straight to a separate check-in that’s quiet and spacious with food and drink available. It’s just what you need after a long flight; especially when travelling with a little one, too. Plus, all suite guests receive complimentary airport transfers which is a huge bonus."

Our expertise, worldwide connections, and the way we do things with a relentless drive means whatever your travels needs are, we can make it happen for you whenever, however, wherever and every time.

Everything you need, all under one roof

“Atlantis The Royal is a destination hotel: you honestly never need to leave.

“Atlantis The Royal Dubai has the highest collection of celebrity chef restaurants than anywhere else in the world – think Nobu, Hakkasan and Dinner by Heston Blumethal – and all restaurants are open for hotel guests as well as non-residents. Children are only allowed to dine in the restaurants between 18.30 and 20.30, so my top tip for visitors with younger kids is to make your reservations in advance to avoid disappointment as these slots get booked quickly. Winged Boots’ in-house concierge can help with all the details."

“I stayed with my wife and young son, so one evening we used the fantastic babysitter service and enjoyed contemporary Asian flavours at Ling Ling with some friends. It’s such a cool restaurant with a really great vibe… and even better cocktails."

Sister, sister

“Other nights, we made use of the quick shuttle service and dined in neighbouring resort Atlantis, The Palm. My son loved looking at the aquariums so we did visit the sister resort a fair bit during our stay – it’s just so convenient to jump on the shuttle and hop on over. We actually spent one evening at Wavehouse where there was a live band playing, before enjoying a family game of bowling."

An adults only playground

“At Atlantis The Royal, there’s an impressive adults-only rooftop pool that had house music playing, great drinks and luxury seating. It’s a great party vibe for couples or groups. As we were travelling with my son, we spent most of our time around the main pool, and one day had use of a cabana which was incredible. It was air-conditioned, had a private shower and toilet, a TV, fridge and great location. It was the perfect pool day and provided plenty of shade and entertainment for my son."

Fountains of fun

“Early evening, we really enjoyed spending time in the sunken seating area with drinks and nibbles overlooking the fountains. The dancing water show was great and this was the ideal spot to watch from.

“I can’t wait to return to Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai and dine at more of its incredible restaurants. The hotel has a brilliant kids’ clubs for families with children of all ages, but personally I think it’s also an excellent choice for couples. It’s an amazing hotel and well worth a visit!”
