Do I need a Covid-19 test to travel?

TRAVEL UPDATE
All travellers arriving in the UK no longer need to take a post-arrival Covid test or verify their status via a passenger locator form, regardless of vaccination status. So the following information is no longer protocol. 

Navigating travel while the world is still feeling the effects of COVID-19 certainly highlights the importance of a knowledgeable travel agent, and we’re thrilled to report that every member of the Winged Boots team is armed with the latest information to ensure that all of our customers are travelling safely. Countries have not taken a one rule fits all approach in regard to entry requirements, so we’ve spoken to the experts and compiled a round-up of our most popular destinations and what they require from international visitors. 

If booking your holiday with Winged Boots, you will be advised at time of booking of the entry requirements needed for your holiday destination. However, these requirements are subject to change so it is your responsibility to stay up to date on your travel destination’s entry status and ensure that you have the adequate forms and tests taken prior to departure.

Please note, the NHS Test and Trace service is not an accepted test resource for travelling requirements, you will need to use a private health facility to provide you with the negative evidence necessary ahead of travel.

Travelling home from holiday

From Friday 11^th February 2022, the government has changed the rules in regard to testing for travellers returning to the UK. The rules applied depend on vaccination status. 

If you are FULLY VACCINATED (min. of 14 days prior to travel) and returning to the UK, you must:

• Complete a passenger locator form 48-hours prior to arrival

If you are NOT FULLY VACCINATED and returning to the UK you must:

• Take a pre-departure test 2 days before departing for your journey to the UK. If your journey is a
  multi-leg journey, you must take the test in the 2 days before the start of the first leg.
• Book and pay for a Day 2 test
• Complete a passenger locator form 48-hours prior to arrival
• Take a Covid-19 test on Day 2
• Quarantine is not required unless you receive a positive result from the Day 2 PCR test.

If a test result comes back positive before travel, Winged Boots will endeavour to protect the holiday and look into the best possible solutions such as change of travel dates, subject to availability. You should not use the NHS testing service to get a test in order to facilitate your travel to another country. You should arrange to take a private test.
