Luxury Holidays New Zealand
New Zealand
Rolling hills, beautiful beaches and an abundance of activities to suit all travellers, New Zealand is a fantastic luxury holiday destination for families and couples wanting a whirlwind of thrilling experiences. From a host of sporting ventures and scenic hikes to wine tasting and whale watching, this corner of the world is a favourite amongst outdoor lovers and those looking for a one-of-a-kind holiday to remember.
A scenic tapestry of landscape and culture, both the South and North Island offer snowy peaks, verdant green hills, thick native forests and bustling cities. For those who enjoy a strong surf, North Island is your best spot. Thanks to this islands warmer climate, the waters are balmier, the sands are silkier and the waves are friendlier to boarders.
While in the North, fans of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy should try to squeeze in a scenic tour to delve a little deeper into The Shire. JRR Tolkein’s novels were brought to the big screen with filming shot across more than 150 locations in New Zealand, many of which were in the South, however the Hobbiton movie set is in Auckland. Here you can swing by Green Dragon Inn, see Bilbo Baggins cosy Hobbit home and hear stories of Middle Earth on a fascinating guided tour. It’s a definite must-see for movie buffs.
For a more adventurous trip, we highly recommend visiting Queenstown. Be sure to pack your nerve as you’re bound to partake in a host of thrilling activities including kayaking, caving and bungee jumping. The area is also home to the largest canyon swing in the world so you can expect your stomach to be in your mouth with this one.
Fancy something a little more family friendly? Head to South Island and enjoy an exciting whale watching tour. The best spot is Kaikoura, not far from Christchurch, which is known as the only place on Earth to see giant sperm whales on a tour. Not only can you see these beauties from a boat but you can also take to the skies and see them on a helicopter tour. You might even spot some fur seals and dolphins, too.
Would you prefer a more relaxing and, dare we say cool holiday? Wellington has been dubbed the ‘coolest little capital’ and is encapsulated by vineyards, mountains and an inviting coastline. A compact city, don’t be put off by this place’s size… with wine tours, museums, a harbour and plethora of delicious restaurants all within the capital’s postcode you’ll struggle to fit it all in.
