Fashionable is a word you wouldn’t necessarily expect to describe the Maldives, but take one step inside the lobby of any Maldives hotel and you’ll see that being chic and stylish is something that all hotels and resorts in the Maldives are very good at.

In fact, the Maldives resorts offer some of the most ultra-modern and fashionable interiors around – the very best of which boast a perfect blend of warming colour palettes, local cultural artwork, and sophisticated furnishings that add that special finishing touch to the look and feel of the resorts.

If you want to experience what it’s like to stay in the Maldives villas you often see on Instagram, look no further than these world-class resorts – from the tranquillity of the JOALI BEING resort to the uber-romantic surroundings of Finolhu.

Let’s take a closer look at these top picks for the most fashionable resorts in the Maldives. Why are they such a cut above the rest?

Find peace in the holistic vibes of JOALI BEING

If you’re travelling to the Maldives to find some well-deserved inner peace, JOALI BEING tops the list. As the Maldives' very first wellness resort, health and happiness is a way of life here. As you explore the island, you’ll be immersed in emotionally inspiring spaces specifically designed to promote relaxation and personal growth through the energy flow of the natural surroundings. Every inch of the resort and the chic villas has been designed to bring joy to all those who stop to take it in.

Best of all, the resort has a big focus on sustainability, with its use of eco-friendly ingredients served up at all its bars and restaurants. There are also impressive on-site recycling initiatives for you to be part of. Being eco-conscious today is undoubtedly the height of fashion.

Relax in your own dreamy beach villa at One&Only Reethi Rah

It’s no wonder One&Only Reethi Rah gets its fair share of celebrities visiting the island resort – it sets the bar high with its impeccable presentation across all areas and spaces of the resort.

The dining options span a whole assortment of international cultures and cuisines, including Tapasake: the resort’s world-class teppanyaki restaurant lit with traditional Japanese lanterns and offering sunset views always worthy of raising a toast to. If you fancy something lighter to eat, enjoy a lunch or snack at one of its casual beachfront bars. The picturesque setting of the Fanditha Bar makes it a guest favourite for shishas and cocktails.

Inside your suites, the sophistication continues. Each of the 128 villas is a haven of luxury, furnished with fabulous wooden textures and beds laced with dreamy white linens waiting for you to jump into. But before then, top off the evening with a soak in an oversized bath looking out onto the breath-taking beach horizon.

Step into paradise at Four Seasons Resort Maldives, Landaa Giraavaru

All of your Maldives fantasies will come true at Four Seasons Resort, Landaa Giraavaru, boasting contemporary Maldivian interior design throughout its resort spaces and 103 Thatched Villas. The luxury begins as soon as you arrive on this tiny yet larger than life paradise island.

Modernity holds the power here, with contemporary amenities only complementing the natural surroundings, like your personal infinity pool seemingly stretching out into the Maldivian waters. The resort and its villas prove that sometimes less is a whole lot more.

The selection of world-class restaurants excites all the senses too, most notably the Al Barakat: an Arabian-inspired specialty built over water and featuring an interior design that favours rich colours, dimly-lit lighting, and authentic (but super comfortable) low seating – a must for your camera roll. It provides the perfect ambience for a warming glass of something strong as dusk hits.

Honeymoon in style at Finolhu

Honeymooners tend to love Finolhu for its laid-back atmosphere that perfectly accommodates privacy and romance. Choose from three villa types: an Ocean Pool Villa, Beach Villa, or a Lagoon Villa – all of which are flawlessly finished with cream colours, soft textures, and modern amenities. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and of course, luxury.

Paradise continues beyond your personal space too. The resort boasts a range of first-rate dining and leisure experiences, including the Fehi Spa that’s said to have special healing powers with its all-body spa treatments and lush green surroundings. You can also feed the soul with a tantalising fine-dining meal at Kanusan serving classic Asian cuisine with a contemporary twist.

A resident DJ brings the Beach Club to life once the sun goes down – order a signature cocktail at the swim-up bar and take it all in. These are memories with your loved one you simply won’t want to forget.

The most fashionable resorts in the Maldives FAQs

What is the best month to go to the Maldives?

The decision is completely up to you. If you want clear blue skies, we recommend going outside of the monsoon season (roughly from May all the way to November). So, if it’s dry weather you’re after, book your trip from November to April during the Maldives' winter months – but don’t let that fool you. Temperatures still reach an average of 30ºC, so still expect plenty of sunbathing rays.

If you want to avoid the bigger tourist crowds, rest assured most Maldives hotels and resorts still welcome visitors throughout the wetter summer months too. In fact, this time of year is perfect for enjoying more of the peace and quiet around the resorts. To discover more, read our month-by-month Maldives weather guide.

Where do celebrities stay in the Maldives?

The truth is, most Maldives resorts and hotels are worthy of a visit from an A-list celebrity. However, one major celebrity hotspot is the Niyama Private Islands Resort known for its ultimate sense of seclusion that helps drift you far away from anyone, including the paparazzi.

The accommodation at Niyama Private Islands Resort is fit for kings and queens with its huge pavilions and plethora of modern amenities like flat-screen TVs and a mini-bar stocked for a heart-warming nightcap whenever it's desired. No to mention the spacious layout of the rooms and the ultra-comfort of the huge beds and plush sofas. It’s really no surprise there’s a good chance you’ll be neighbours with a famous face.

If you’re still unsure what's right for you, consider our Maldives tours which cover two different locations in one trip. You get the best of both worlds, especially if the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Want to follow the trends and book a stay at one of these fashionable Maldives resorts and villas? Have a closer browse through the list and see which best suits – whether it’s stunning resort surroundings, world-class facilities, or simply the ultimate villa for you and your family to enjoy.
