Say hello to an upgraded way of travelling in style at New York’s JFK airport, where a brand-new Club Lounge now awaits you, courtesy of British Airways. Forget the ordinary and step into the luxurious, with the completion of the airline’s £50 million investment in the shape of this plush new space for First and Club World customers. Let us give you a tour around…
The Elemis Spa offers a range of treatments to assist you with recharging your batteries.
Designed intricately with the premium customer in mind, British Airways have crafted their flagship US lounge to be the rejuvenating space for business and leisure flyers, travelling between New York and London. Spacious areas are thread into the core of the Club Lounge, with 22,000 sq.ft of plush furniture and sleek dining space to enjoy. The airline’s signature bold blue is at home in the contemporary décor, and the artistic hanging bulb lights and wooden panelling blend seamlessly into the simplicity of the new business class Club Suite, yours to enjoy once on board.
Elegant seating areas invite you to relax and take a moment or a few to yourself. Ample work stations with power outlets are sprinkled throughout the lounge, giving savvy businessmen the option to maximise work time. For those after a little more fun, head to the entertainment room with state-of-the-art television and sound from Sony, or if your stay in the ‘big apple’ has left you longing for some relaxation, the Elemis Spa offers a range of treatments to assist you with recharging your batteries.
If food is on your mind, then the new lounge offers the ultimate pre-flight dining experience with a brasserie-style dining room where you can enjoy freshly prepared dishes or smaller items to grab and go. For a more eloquent affair, the Quaich Bar, created in partnership with the Craigellachie Hotel in Speyside, Scotland, is calling your name. A full range of fine wines and cocktails such as the Broadway Cooper Cup made with Copper Dog whisky are yours for the picking, the perfect way to indulge in some me-time or enjoy a tipple with your travel companions, before jetting back home. If beer is more your thing, why not treat yourself to some time in the BrewDog craft beer room? Here you can try a specially-designed British Airways beer called the Speedbird 100, named after the airlines’ flight call sign and relax in style.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience said: “JFK airport is like a second home to Heathrow so it’s great to mark the final step in our significant customer investment with the opening of our new Club and First lounges. Every detail has been carefully designed and we’ve created a space to meet our customers’ needs – whether they want to relax and have a meal or enjoy a craft beer and catch up on the world news.”
In addition to the opening of the newly-renovated Club Lounge, the First Lounge in JFK, which opened in October last year, offers an opulent bar and bespoke zones, including a state-of-the-art wine room where an enomatic dispenser ensures each glass of wine is served at exactly the right temperature and oxidized to the precise level.
