Just below the Venetian Alps in the north east of Italy is the vast open waters of Lake Como. A large stretch of clear water that covers 45 kilometres in length and 4 kilometres in width, the sheer size of this beautiful lake environment is something of a marvel. The mountainous surroundings circle the lake like a grand barrier from all of life’s stresses, so you can reside in one of the most peaceful settings in the world completely undisturbed.

Although seemingly isolated from the rest of civilisation, you will have every amenity you need for a comfortable stay thanks to the second-to-none resorts. This destination certainly has you in for a holiday of peace and tranquility… and lashings of luxury, of course.
Lake Como has a plethora of luxury resorts to complement the phenomenal scenery. Mostly of a traditional disposition, many of the hotels are typical of stately manor houses fitted with all the necessities for a Lord’s residency. You’ll feel like a true Italian aristocrat in accommodations like these, as all resorts exude the class and sophistication that you’d expect from a high-end holiday. This area is also a hotbed for other desirable features also, as Italian and Mediterranean cuisine are served in numerous Michelin-star restaurants, and the town of Bellagio is bursting with boutique shopping outlets to enjoy.
Around this glorious lake you can experience an environment of an almost biblical stature, which makes activities that are moderately satisfying on a day-to-day basis incredibly exciting. Play tennis at the foot of the leviathan snow-capped mountains, or sail the endless lakes on a Bellagio Water Limousine or on a hireable boat with you as the skipper. Alternatively, you can relax in one of the many spas in and around the lake. Either way, this incredible destination is a resting place of sophisticated leisure and dining, and thanks to its awe-inspiring settings to kick your feet back to, it boasts all the key ingredients for a royal getaway.

Lake Como has been a hit destination for celebrities long before becoming a holiday home to the likes of George Clooney, Catherine Zeta Jones and Brad Pitt. This was a choice getaway for Mark Twain and Ernest Hemmingway over the last century, as well as for high-profiles of the Roman Empire back in the day.
