For a slice of the original Tenerife, don’t miss La Laguna, a Unesco World Heritage site. The historic gem boasts narrow poker-straight streets flanked by preserved mansions, eclectic architecture, antique shops and bookstores. Oh, and if you're a hiker, check out the ancient laurel forests and rugged ravines of the Anaga Mountains.

  • UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city of San Cristóbal de la Laguna is infused with historical and cultural sites. Marvel at the beautifully preserved mansions dating from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries or test your general knowledge the Museum of the History of Tenerife.   • The Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site offers layers of luscious forests of the lava plains of La Esperanza and the lunar volcanic rock foundations. This one is extremely popular and you can do it by walking tour, jeep safari or night-time trip.
     
  • If you’re searching for something off the tourist trail, discover the Anaga Mountains in the north east of the island and embark on an adventurous hike. Founded by a volcanic eruption millions of years ago, this ancient mountain range is the most prehistoric part of the island, and a trip here will geologically take you back in time to another world.

  •  Temperature, clear waters and an array of volcanic rock formations make Tenerife a divers dream. The island boasts a diverse range of diving centres offering a variety of trips for all ages and abilities. For those who are not yet ready to dip their toes in, tag along for a scenic boat trip and for the courageous why not discover a world of underwater caves with a night dive? Also, while there are secluded quiet beaches, many of the sandy shores host a wide selection of fun watersports so get ready to ride the waves.
