Indulge in a luxury African safari at Kafue National Park

The largest and oldest game reserve in Zambia, Kafue National Park is a must for all visitors wanting a luxurious experience of the African bushveld. Comprising more than 13,000 square miles of superb wilderness, this vast expanse is breathtakingly beautiful and full to the brim with unique sights. The cascades of the Kafue River run throughout the area so you can expect to experience a one-of-a-kind safari expedition by boat as well as by 4x4 and on foot.

The landscape and terrain of the park makes it a must for nature lovers and intrepid adventurers as not only is it incredibly scenic but it’s also great for off-roading fun and challenging walking safaris. The remoter norther region forms an open grassland that’s perfect for spotting herds of wildebeest as well as observing some interesting flora like the ‘islands’ of fig tree plants. The southern plains run alongside the Kafue river where animals come in droves to drink – a sight that’s truly out of this world.

The other key pull of this incredible area is its unbelievable diversity and wealth of exciting wildlife. Big names like lions, leopards, elephants and wildebeest are all prominent here so you’re bound to see at least one! Other enchanting animals are also around, but more of a challenge to spot due to their elusive nature, such as the African wild dog and various reptiles and antelope. Ornithologists will definitely want to make this a stop on their Zambia to-do list as the park is said to boast an impressive 478 of Zambia’s 733 bird varieties.
