Ok, we admit it. We have royal wedding fever but not because we’re dying to know what Meghan Markle will be wearing (although our bet is on a silky Jenny Packham or Amanda Wakeley number with show stopping beading and a full-length veil). Or what shoes Prince H will wear down the aisle – however our money is on something bespoke by George Cleverley. No, we’re excited to discover where the worlds most talked about couple will be heading off on honeymoon.

The wedding date is set for Saturday 19th May and rumours are circling around where the couple will visit as their first destination as Mr and Mrs. Will the Prince take his bride to his favourite island in the Caribbean after his two official tours last year? Or perhaps Meghan will show Harry her favourite spots in her home-town of LA? Ultimately, we have no way of knowing however these destinations are bound to get the royal seal of approval.

Explore the depths of Africa

It’s no secret that Africa is a destination close to both Meghan and Harry’s hearts. The Prince first visited Botswana just a few weeks after his mother’s death when he was 12-years-old and has since taken Meghan on multiple trips to the African country. In fact, it is rumoured that Meghan’s engagement ring even features a stone from Botswana. Coincidence? We think not.

Alternatively, Meghan has previously visited Rwanda as a World Vision Global Ambassador, an experience which she reportedly described as ‘incredible’. The pair are both passionate advocates for humanitarian work in Africa so perhaps they’ll give back during their honeymoon before camping out under the stars. Alternatively, maybe they’ll stray from Botswana and Rwanda altogether and head to South Africa on safari where they may also hike Table Mountain. Or perhaps Zimbabwe will entice the couple with its spectacular site of the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls. Either way, at Winged Boots HQ we think it’s highly likely the couple will head back to the continent if not on their first voyage as Mr and Mrs, then in the very near future.

Mother Nature was very generous when she touched the Seychelles’ collection of 115 islands. The archipelago’s rugged beauty is nothing short of breathtaking and its experience as a luxury honeymoon destination delivers on every level. None more so than on the island nation’s North Island

This luxurious private resort is no stranger to high profile honeymoons either. George and Amal Clooney honeymooned at the resort in 2014 and Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are rumoured to also have had their honeymoon on the island in 2011. What’s more, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have previously holidayed on the island.

Comprising just 11 private guest villas, North Island is the epitome of exclusive. Villa 11, in particular, is the quintessence of privacy and seclusion, perched on the granite boulders at the far end of East Beach. Complete with its own private beach, the island’s other guests would probably not even notice if it was occupied – the perfect spot for the world’s most talked about honeymooners to share their first few days as Mr and Mrs, right?

Explore California’s greatest highways

Harry and Meghan don’t strike us as a couple who will spend a week or two lounging on a beach for their honeymoon and not doing a lot else. They’re outdoorsy, adventurous and seem the type that like to explore their surroundings. Plus, Meghan’s recently moved to London from LA to be with her prince, so perhaps she’d like to show Harry a little more of the place she used to call home?

A Californian road trip would make a great honeymoon – we mean, if it’s good enough for Michelle and Barack Obama in the 90s, it’s certain to get the royal stamp of approval. The state features multiple national parks, including the world-famous Yosemite and Death Valley as well as the bright lights of Hollywood and the exclusive shopping district of Beverly Hills. For a wild night out, San Francisco will be ready to oblige and for some fun days on the coast, Santa Monica will host the couple. And of course, it’s only a four-hour drive from LA to Las Vegas, a city we famously know Harry enjoys. We think this could be right up the duo’s street.

Explore California for yourself with our range of hotels, itineraries and things to do here.

Prior to the Suits actress’ departure from social media and the closure of her lifestyle blog The Tig, Meghan openly talked about her love for Le Sirenuse on the stunning Amalfi Coast. As a self-proclaimed wine aficionado, Italy seems a well-suited destination for the bride-to-be and the small fishing village of Positano is sure to provide the newlyweds with some much-deserved privacy.

Other celebrity fans of Le Sirenuse include Reese Witherspoon and Sienna Miller, and with one glance at the hotel, it’s easy to see why. The boutique hotels is home to a delicious restaurant, La Sponda, that serves exquisite Mediterranean cuisine with stunning coastal views on the side. It’s 59 guest rooms and suites are luxuriously-appointed with authentic European charm and a rustic Italian flair. Recreate childhood memories in Hawaii

Meghan has previously spoken of her idyllic childhood holidays in Hawaii. A cliché honeymoon destination, however there’s no denying the beauty of the archipelago. Powder white sands, cerulean waters, lush green jungle peppered with bright tropical flora and fauna, Hawaii’s landscape has been compared to paradise numerous times, and we couldn’t agree more.

Hawaii’s eight major islands all offer a different holiday experience. The Big Island, is home to a fantastic National Park and boasts a varied climate that includes four of the five climate zones on the planet ranging from wet tropical to polar tundra. Oahu, on the other hand, is where you’ll find the world-famous North Shore that’s ideal for surfers. Plus, this island is where the Pearl Harbour Historic Site is which is bound to be of interest to military man Harry. Alternatively, Maui’s intoxicating charm may entice the couple thanks to its breathtaking waterfalls, picturesque beaches and army of watersports. With this much choice, an island-hopping adventure could be on the cards for the famous couple…

Like Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1981, perhaps Harry and Meghan will embark on a cruise for their honeymoon. The Prince and Princess of Wales spent the first part of their honeymoon at the royal estate of Balmoral before boarding the Royal Yacht Britannia for a two-week cruise through the Mediterranean. Maybe the newlyweds could visit Game of Thrones’ sets in Croatia, or enjoy delectable tapas in Spain? Or perhaps the yachts and beach clubs in Monaco would be more up the couple’s alley?

Kick back on the shores of Nevis

Harry recently visited the small island of Nevis during his Caribbean tour in 2016 and first visited the isle as a child with his mother in 1993. And it seems that he could be set to make his travel a hattrick as Greg Phillip, CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority says: “As it is one of the most romantic islands in the world, we are quietly confident that Nevis’ guaranteed privacy will attract the royal newlyweds.”

With a connection to Harry’s childhood and the beauty of the isle’s white-sand palm-fringed beaches, it’s easy to understand the appeal of Nevis as a honeymoon destination. Cerulean waters, sapphire skies, utter seclusion and beaming sunshine – we can think of worse places to visit.
