This Maldives island has just launched the world's first underwater ‘flight'

With a professional pilot at the controls, a maximum of two guests can fly above coral formations, ride alongside shoals of colourful fish and even spot wild dolphins, rays, sharks and beautiful turtles… all from the safety of the dry submarine. No swimming required, no uncomfortable snorkel and no PADI certificate required – what’s not to love? Plus, the submarine can dive to a depth of 120-feet (37 metres) allowing you to discover even more creatures of the deep than via other means.

The submarine itself is one of DeepFlight’s most advanced models yet. A high-performance submarine, the Super Falcon 3S represents the pinnacle of personal submarine technology. Environmentally friendly, the submarine is battery-operated and offers unparalleled underwater flying from the safety, and comfort, of a personal pressurised and air-conditioned cockpit that comes complete with individual 360-degree viewing domes. What’s more, the submarine’s acoustic emissions have been minimalised to ensure little disruption to the marine life and it never lands on the seabed or reefs.

Guests will not only discover the world beneath the waves but will also be educated on the wonders of the underwater ecosystem with real-time commentary from the knowledgeable pilot. 

The excursion takes approximately one hour from boarding to end, and costs $1500 USD (+12 percent GST) per flight. Children must be aged 7 or above and be taller than 4-feet (1.2 metres). Maximum weight and height restrictions do apply.
