In fact, La Palme d’Or is a major celebrity hotspot, especially amongst Hollywood A-listers often in town for the annual Cannes Film Festival. Some regular big-name diners include the likes Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt. Like the stars, you’ll dine on a menu of exquisite French cuisine and relish in the heavenly seaside setting.

The small and intimate setting amongst the hotel gardens is delightful too. You can choose to dine in the Victorian-style glass conservatory or alfresco on the terrace under the Olive trees.

Michelin-star La Table de Patrick Raingeard at Hôtel Cap Estel is a must-visit. The Mediterranean menu showcases seasonal produce grown on-site in the hotel's very own garden, so you can expect to taste the difference with every bite. 

But it’s not just the creative and innovative fine-dining food that’s most impressive, the restaurant’s stylish dining room also wows and delights the senses. We highly recommend dining al fresco under a canopy admiring the peaceful hotel grounds and Èze’s sea views.

Last, but by no means least, is La Chèvre d’Or Gourmet Restaurant at La Chévre D'Or. With two Michelin stars to its name, we may have saved the best till last.  

Taking up a picturesque spot on a Èze hillside, it’s both the food and the idyllic views that make this restaurant such a first-class experience. You’ll dine in a grand dining room architecturally designed to give panoramic vistas of blue waters and rocky hillsides.  

And the menu itself is pretty exceptional too – although it’s purposefully small, everything on offer has been carefully cooked up to magnify the tastes and smells of mineral and marine local produce, with dishes such as the Escabèche-style mackerel and the olive oil-preserved octopus being standouts.

• Take photos of the opulent interior design boasting a gold colour palette and ornate carpeting  

There are many Côte d'Azur restaurants that could take the top spot, however we think La Palme d’Or in Cannes just nabs it. Everyone has different opinions on what may or may not be the best dining experience, but La Palme d’Or has it all – exquisite food, warm and friendly staff, and a winning beachfront spot.  

Although the restaurants on this list do not offer a separate children’s menu, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for them to eat whatsoever – it’s just that picky eaters might find it hard to find something they like. 

If you are looking for a family meal out, we recommend booking a table at a kid-friendly place and instead save the upscale Michelin-starred restaurants for another time. However, if your child already has a mature palette and a taste for the high-life, who are we to say something isn’t suitable for kids?
