Atlantis The Royal is a brand new five-star ultra-luxury resort on Dubai's Palm Island with its sister hotel Atlantis, The Palm as its neighbour. Officially opening its doors to guests in March 2023, it promises to offer an ultra-luxury experience that sets a new standard in excellence.

The Rooms, Suites and Signature Penthouses provide plenty to excite luxury travellers. But what is there to do at the resort? In this article, we’re putting a spotlight on the top Atlantis The Royal activities to inspire you.

Whether it’s a sumptuous spa, mind-bending gastronomy or record-breaking infinity pools you’re looking for, this resort has got you covered. Here are the best things to do at Atlantis The Royal.

Dine like royalty

Atlantis The Royal is a destination for culinary prestige with its 17 restaurants and bars across the resort – 8 helmed by celebrity chefs.

At Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, the world-renowned chef has crafted a menu inspired by British cuisine dating back to the 1300s. Expect playful dishes with innovative flavours such as Meat Fruit, a mandarin and chicken liver parfait as well as Tipsy Cake, a spit roast pineapple dessert.

Dine on the diverse and complex flavours of Peruvian cuisine at Gastón Acurio’s La Mar. Here, you can feast on hearty favourites like Peruvian causas (potato dumplings) and freshly grilled anticucho (street food style bites). Washed down with a crisp glass of Pisco.

Don’t forget about dessert. For those with a sweet tooth, the award-winning Little Venice Cake Company is your go-to for couture cakes fit for royalty.

Awaken your senses

Elevate your mind, body and spirit at Awaken spa and experience a wellness journey like never before. Here, innovative wellness programmes and one-of-a-kind therapies promise to pamper and revive.

Sink into relaxation in the exclusive treatment rooms, languish in the outdoor pool or soothe your mind in the meditation pavilion. Beauty treatments are available alongside personal styling and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

We also recommend taking the afternoon to explore the Hammam Sensorium. Inspired by traditional bathhouses, the wellness experience features invigorating treatments with natural products such as volcanic rock, crushed meteorite, gold and lavender black soap. It’s the epitome of world-class indulgence.

Swim in the sky

Level up your luxury swimming pool game at Atlantis The Royal’s Cloud 22. The bar and infinity sky pool crown the hotel’s rooftop, 22 storeys up in Dubai's blue skies.

Cloud 22 is a luxurious setting to admire sun-drenched views over the Arabian Gulf on one side, and the famous Dubai skyline on the other. For extra privacy, lounge in the VIP section with its 15 private cabanas or take your entourage to the VVIP cabana which features its own private pool.

Wherever you settle, cocktails will be flowing, and the DJ’s beat will keep the party going as the sun moves across the horizon. Perfection.

A drink to resonate with

Haute gastronomy isn’t the only culinary event on the menu at Atlantis The Royal. Beverages are given an ultra-luxe transformation too.

Each of the hotel’s bars has its own flare and character, but if you want an utterly unique imbibing experience, head to Resonance by Heston Blumenthal.

The chef has taken to experimenting with molecular gastronomy, an approach that explores the chemistry behind food preparation. As a result, Resonance is a bespoke lobby bar where molecular cocktails inspired by Dubai’s surroundings are on the menu. In short, expect the unexpected.

If that wasn’t enough excitement, 4,000 jellyfish float serenely in a floor-to-ceiling aquarium to accompany every sip. How’s that for ambience?

Have Aquaventure adventures

Watery adventures continue as guests have access to the award-winning Aquaventure situated between Atlantis The Royal and Atlantis, The Palm.

The world’s largest water park has over 105 slides (a Guinness Book of World Records title), plus attractions and experiences for the whole family.

Get the adrenaline pumping at the Raging Rapids, take little thrill seekers to the Splashers Kids’ Play Area or get your tan on at the 1km private Aquaventure beach.

There are 3 different entry passes to choose from: the Aquaventure Day Pass which gets you access to all the rides and experiences; Aquaventure Super Pass which includes a ticket to the Lost Chambers Aquarium and Aquaventure Season Pass for UAE residents.

Explore an underwater world

The entire resort is built of the natural elements: earth, fire, water and air. The DNA of the Atlantis brand however is still very visible, and is seen throughout the resort with our lobby Aquariums, Jellyfish tank, and 11.5 metre lobby sculpture – reminiscent of Atlantis, The Palm’s lobby sculpture.

You can also wander over to Aquaventure to find The Lost Chambers Aquarium. It’s home to 65,000 marine animals within its 14 chambers.

Explore the passages of this octagonal shaped aquarium and encounter creatures of the deep from sharks to rays and even schools of clownfish. There are 21 exhibits to explore, all enriched by an Ocean Tales app that lets you learn about the marine critters swimming behind the glass.

Take your aquarium exploration to the next level with a small group behind the scenes tour led by the people who care for the animals. You can also do a 60-minute yoga class inside the aquarium before it opens to the public with the fish swimming by as your backdrop.

Of course, if you want to go full mermaid – or merman – and get among the fish, you can snorkel, dive and even walk in the tanks. A PADI certification is also possible.

Pose with Droplets

There’s no end to glorious photogenic spots all over Atlantis The Royal. A particularly swish location is the Droplets sculpture which stands 11.5 metres tall. Inspired by the first drop of rain in the desert, it’s a dazzling sight that takes centre stage in the hotel lobby.

Dress in your best and take snaps to cherish as you pass by it on your way out to dinner. It’s sure to liven up your social media feed.

Marvel at Skyblaze Fountain

Set within the sculpted grounds of Atlantis The Royal is a dance between fire and water performed within one mighty fountain.

The epic Skyblaze Fountain is the first and only fire and water fountain in the Middle East; designed by WET Design, the world’s authority on water installations.

Rising 28 metres into the air, this mesmerising fountain display is a performance not to be missed. Enjoy the show at night with the twinkling lights of Dubai’s skyline as a backdrop.

Dance away the night

You don’t need to go far for a night to remember.

As the sun sets over Atlantis The Royal, Ling Ling Dubai delivers a 180-degree panorama of the Palm Island, the Arabian Sea and the city skyline. ‘Arrive early, leave late’ is its motto.

Resonance by Heston Blumenthal will test the boundaries of your imagination, and for good old cocktails in hand and sand between your toes, Nobu by the Beach is where beach vibes and refined dining unite.

Hit the beach

Relaxing on the beach with a drink in one hand and a book in the other is what holidays are all about.

Between both Atlantis, The Palm and Atlantis The Royal, there’s 2.3km of private beach to sunbathe on. In fact, it’s the longest continuous stretch of privately-owned beach in Dubai!

Spend your beach time enjoying the plethora of water sports or get some horizontal chill time on the sand - the perfect ingredients for holiday-mode.

Others can be easily found within hotel common areas such as the elevated sky pool on the roof. The property also has a family pool, children’s pool and the Nobu by the Beach pool for adults.

At Atlantis The Royal's wellness centre AWAKEN, an outdoor lap pool helps you get some lengths in to start your morning while the Elements Retreat is a more relaxing place to soak.

Residents of Atlantis The Royal also have their own exclusive premier pool at beach level with its own beachfront view.
