There’s only one thing better than dining in Bali’s selection of world-class resort restaurants – and that’s taking an exclusive seat in their private dining rooms.

If you’ve ever experienced private dining before, you’ll know just how special it can be – especially if it’s for a big birthday celebration or an anniversary that deserves going the extra mile or splashing out for.

When you experience Bali private dining rooms, you’ll be seated at the very best table in the entire restaurant, tuck into exquisite fine-dining-style cuisine, and be served all evening by attentive waiters who are there to provide undivided hospitality.

Best of all, the restaurants on this list all boast a spectacular setting that makes the most of Bali’s unbeatable natural beauty – a private pavilion nestled on a sandy beach or a rooftop terrace sitting high amongst the rainforest canopy.

So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the best private dining rooms in Bali.

Kubu at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

The whole open-air restaurant of Kubu at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is pretty special, but it’s the private cocoon booths that stand out most. You’ll be seated in your own little nest away from the rest of the main dining room, allowing you to cosy up and feel closer with your fellow diners. The gourmet à la carte Mediterranean-inspired menu is super tasty too.

We think Kubu is best suited to couples, as the whole place oozes romance and sensuality. Its stripped-back bamboo decor and dimly-lit ambience make this the perfect place to come for an extraordinary date night.

With the moonlight shining down and the calming sounds of the Ayung River flowing just yards from your table, private dining in Bali doesn’t come more atmospheric than this. It's also the perfect hotel if you're seeking privacy during your stay in Bali.

Sokasi Chef's Table at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan

Next up on our list of the best private dining rooms in Bali is the Sokasi Chef's Table at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. With its interactive theatre kitchen-style of dining, this is the place to come for an exciting night of cookery demonstration – you’ll see everything get whipped up right before your very eyes and get the chance to ask any questions directly to the chef along the way.

But on top of the unique element of watching them in action, it’s the actual food they cook up that’s most stellar. You’ll dine on all sorts of traditional Balinese delights, including a succulent 12-hour roasted duck and spiced suckling pig that any meat-eaters will fall at their feet for.

Vegetarians on the other hand will love the Jangung Panggang, a deliciously sweet and aromatic baby corn dish. There’s something for everybody here – if not, simply give them your dietary requirements and they’ll be happy to change things up for you.

The beachfront pavilion at The Legian Bali

Private dining in Bali doesn’t necessarily need to be in a big fancy restaurant. At The Legian Bali, one of its best dining experiences actually takes place outside of the main restaurants (it’s got plenty of great ones), and instead in a private beachfront pavilion.

This resort is all about making you feel right at home. Everything The Legian Bali does can be personalised to you – that’s why we think an exclusive three-course meal in their stunning beachfront pavilion is one of the best ways to tuck into the resort’s world-class food.

After popping a bottle of bubbly and raising a glass, you’ll sit back at your secluded table surrounded by flickering candles and look out at the breathtaking horizon of the slowly darkening Indian Ocean. The finer things in life like the sound of the gently lapping waves are free!

The Tea House at COMO Shambhala Estate

Although it’s a wellness retreat, COMO Shambhala Estate is far from a gruelling diet camp only serving up healthy salad and soups – instead, you’ll be immersed in the incredible flavours of traditional Indonesian grub.

The menus are sophisticated, nutritionally balanced, and unbelievably tasty. Meals here are flexible too, simply rock up at the gourmet restaurant Kudos House or the more casual brunch bar GLOW anytime you want throughout the day.

And for an extra-special dining experience, the team here can set up a private dinner across a whole host of different spots around the resort, like on the beach at sunset or a quiet part of the surrounding forestry which will bring an exciting sense of adventure to the proceedings.

However, our particular favourite is the Tea House, an ultra-unique private dining room which accommodates up to 20 guests. If it’s an occasion you’re celebrating, private dining in Bali is best enjoyed when you’ve got your most treasured loved ones right beside you to experience it together.

Cloud Nine Crystal Chapel at The St. Regis Bali Resort

Last on our list of the best private dining rooms in Bali is the Cloud Nine Crystal Chapel at The St. Regis Bali Resort. We’ve left this on until last because it’s probably the best, certainly the most unique. Primarily used for wedding ceremonies, the elegant Cloud Nine Crystal Chapel can be transformed into a wonderful beachfront private dining space fit for royalty.

With its hanging Swarovski crystal chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows, this place has the WOW factor. Your night will start by being greeted by your personal butler and enjoying a canapé and cocktail reception on the Cloud Nine Terrace – before tucking into a mighty seven-course dinner accompanied by a private pianist who’ll set the mood nicely.

This is definitely one of the swankiest private dining experiences in Bali.

The best private dining rooms in Bali FAQs

Why is private dining so special?
If you’ve never experienced private dining before, we highly recommend booking something for your next trip, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion whilst you’re out there.

It’s all about enjoying that exceptional VIP treatment – you’ll receive outstanding hospitality that’s dedicated to your party only, meaning you’ll be waited on hand and foot and brought whatever you want or need throughout your meal.

Some private dining rooms in Bali also offer customizable menus, meaning you can switch up dishes or swap stuff out if you fancy something else instead. Usually, you’ll have a chance to speak to the chef directly beforehand and they’ll tailor the meal to your own specific tastes and preferences. Now that’s special, right?

Do all resort restaurants in Bali offer private dining?
Unfortunately not. It’s probably wise to call the restaurant beforehand to see what private dining experiences they can offer. Chances are the very best signature restaurants will be able to arrange something, even if it’s saving you the best table or sectioning off a specific part of the main dining room. They’ll work their magic somehow.
