A sister resort to the famous Atlantis, The Palm is set to open soon… and we can’t wait to try out the new entertainment destination. Located next door on the crescent of The Palm, together the two properties will span 63 hectares of land – which is roughly the size of 155 football pitches – and will comprise 45 restaurants and bars, including 8 celebrity chef restaurants. What’s more, together the two resorts will boast 92 swimming pools and 2 spa and fitness facilities with a whopping 42 treatment rooms.
So now you know the numbers, let’s introduce the hotel. Enter The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences, a 43 storey-high resort that is architecturally stunning. Think luxury rooms and suites that stack like a game of Jenga overlooking the twinkling Arabian Gulf complete with lush green spaces and a rooftop swimming pool. Its highlights include one of the largest jellyfish tanks in the world at the Lobby Bar alongside 17 restaurants and a selection of residences that feature up to five bedrooms.

There’s a level of individuality throughout the rooms and suites with 82 different floorplans across all 795 accommodation options, however it’s clear that comfort is at the core of the guest rooms – but don’t think that comfortable means any less luxurious! On the contrary, the residences have been designed by Paris-based interior design house Sybille de Margerie and focus on imagination, innovation and style. Located on the east wing of the development, there are 231 residential homes comprising two, three, four and five-bedrooms including Skycourts, Penthouses and Garden Suites, ideal for extended stays and large groups.
All guests of The Royal Atlantis Residences receive access to Atlantis, The Palm’s amenities including Aquaventure Waterpark, The Lost Chambers Aquarium and its range of award-winning restaurants as well as the new resort’s additional facilities: 24-hour concierge; residents’-only tennis courts and gymnasium; BBQ area; exclusive private leisure pool and beach with luxury cabanas; meeting rooms; private parking; a library and a multi-functional event space.

The additional dining destinations is what sets The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences apart from the rest. 17 new restaurants and bars are set to open alongside the hotel including world-renowned Hakkasan and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. The first Middle Eastern venture for the experimental British chef, this new restaurant will offer a menu of contemporary dishes inspired by historic British recipes.
Michelin-starred chef José Andrés also has a presence with Jaleo that boasts the diverse flavours of Spain in a stylish, yet casual, atmosphere. Celebrity chef Ariana Bundy has set up her debut restaurant, Ariana’s Persian Kitchen, that offers a revolutionary menu while Gastón Acurio will bring the first cebicheria to Dubai through his award-winning gastronomy and signature dishes. We’re getting peckish just at the thought…

The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences is certainly the top spot in the emirate to cool from the heat. With 92 pools available, choosing where to pitch up isn’t going to be easy. But if you want our opinion, head for the chic infinity rooftop Sky Pool that spans 90 metres in length almost 96 metres above The Palm, a first for the manmade island.
If you’d rather a private experience, book one of the Skycourts and enjoy an acrylic-front 1.2-metre-deep plunge pool. Carefully positioned to maximise the views from inside, outside and underwater, the pools also maintain the ultimate in privacy so you can enjoy your own little corner of Dubai in the upmost seclusion. If privacy is your priority, consider our private jet service for a seamless journey to your holiday destination.
