Proudly flaunting a rich history, bountiful rolling countryside, and very cool cities, the UK remains one of the most popular destinations in Europe – and indeed the world – for both foreign and local travellers alike.

Its monarchical society conjures up fairy-tale imagery, with castles, cathedrals, and centuries-old buildings adding to the magic. Of course, this comes at a price.

Yes you could find a budget chain hotel or an Airbnb but it’s not as fun as splashing out on a luxurious five-star hotel, is it?

Whether you opt to stay in the buzzing capital of London or a grand estate in the country, many hotels in the UK can be decidedly pricey, but the quality is off the charts.

We have pulled together a list of some of our favourite luxurious five-star accommodations across the country to give you inspiration for your next staycation, including the most expensive hotel in the UK, and wow, she’s a stunner!

The Savoy, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, London

Well documented as one of the UK's finest luxury hotels, The Savoy has been a stalwart of London’s high-end hotel scene for more than 130 years and sits upon the north bank of the River Thames, offering an unrivalled location and a world-renowned service that is beyond compare.

The Savoy. A Fairmont Managed Hotel was the first purpose-built luxury hotel in the city, enticing distinguished guests from around the world. Members of the royal family dined here as well as a long, glittering list of movie stars stayed, including Marilyn Monroe, Katharine Hepburn, and Charlie Chaplin. Also, a small selection of One-Bedroom Personality River View Suites has been named after some of the hotel’s most famed guests such as Mel Brooks and Frank Sinatra and feature The Savoy’s signature chequered black and white bathroom floors as well as beautiful clawfoot bathtubs.

In 2021, for Gucci’s 100th anniversary celebration, The Savoy’s Royal Suite was renovated with the iconic fashion house to mark the company’s founder, Guccio Gucci, who was a luggage porter and lift boy in his youth.

Three-nights at this epic hotel will set you back approximately £1,440 per person for the Superior Queen Rooms, but if you really want to push the boat out then how about an eye-watering £15,000 per night for the Royal Suite by Gucci?
