Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai is a fun-filled holiday destination for everyone. The resort has everything you can imagine in one place, from diving with sharks and shopping for extra special treats to dining in world class restaurants and swimming with rays, there is no dream or wish that cannot be catered for when staying or visiting this resort.

Just when you think you know everything about Atlantis, the Palm, it will always find ways to surprise you, with its innovative ways of keeping us all on our toes. Here are 25 fun and interesting facts that we bet you didn’t know about one of Dubai’s most iconic holidays destinations: 
 

1.    The Atlantis, the Palm was the first hotel resort to open on the world’s largest manmade island, Palm Jumeirah, in 2008. 

Palm Jumeirah is now one of three artificial islands extending into the Persian Gulf off the coast of Dubai. Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira make up the other two, and once completed they will increase Dubai’s shoreline by a combined total of 520 kilometres.

7.    The Ambassador Lagoon is the largest open-air aquarium in Africa and the Middle East and one of the top 10 largest aquariums in the whole world. 

The lagoon is an 11 million litre underwater habitat ready to be explored and observed. This enormous aquarium is home to an amazing variety of species from lobsters to stringrays, piranha to hammer head sharks and needs to be seen to be believed!

18.    Ossiano, Atlantis, the Palm’s famous underwater restaurant, sees more marriage proposals than any other location in the resort every year. 

Thanks to the excellent efforts of the Atlantis divers spreading messages of underwater love, Ossiano is known for being one of the most romantic places to dine in the whole of Dubai.

19.    Atlantis, the Palm has a total of 32 dining opportunities throughout the resort, including 3 outlets by Michelin awarded and celebrity chefs Nobi Matsuhisa, Giorgio Locatelli and Gordon Ramsay.  

20.    Nobu Matsuhisa’s restaurant, Nobu, is renowned for serving some of the highest standard sushi and sashimi in the whole world but the most ordered dish on the menu is the infamous Black Cod selling in excess of 20,000 portions every year.
