1. There are no cars allowed

One of the most interesting Jumby Bay Island Antigua facts is that the entire island is a car-free zone. This is why each suite comes with free bicycles, so you can still explore the island on palm tree paths that wind through the 300-acre private estate. The no-car policy is what adds to the chilled vibe of the island. It also means that little ones can roam freely, completely safe.

2. It's an all-inclusive resort that goes beyond the food and drink

Your every whim is taken care of as you step onto this luxurious island. You can indulge all day and night either with the á la carte or the grab-and-go Indian street-style food. Inclusive drinks go beyond the usual menu, with options such as Moët & Chandon Champagne, fine wines and cocktails. 3. It's a quick transfer from the airport

Jumby Bay Island Antigua is located just 10-minutes from the northern coast of Antigua, which you can fly into before making the scenic boat ride to the island. Door-to-door it takes 20 minutes plus a 10-minute journey from the dock. It will all feel worth it as you set foot onto the private island sands surrounded by palm trees…

4. Jumby Bay has its own farm

There are four restaurants onsite, which are included in the all-inclusive package at Jumby Bay Island Antigua. The main restaurant is The Veranda, it’s located on the beach and provides á la carte options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dishes all incorporate ingredients from the resort's very own farm. The menu is predominantly Italian and includes freshly caught fish, pasta, steak and sweet desserts.

For a more casual affair, the Pool Grill and Bar provides casual dishes and drinks. You can head to the Estate House for fine dining with West Indian cuisine. Guests can also enjoy pop-up dining events such as beach BBQs, rustic meals on the farm, picnics, and private romantic beach dinners.

5. Ask for a 'Suzy Special' at the onsite bar

Head down to the beach to Genny’s Bar for casual drinks or grab-and-go Indian cuisine. You must sample a Caribbean rum at the old sugar mill, or go to the 1830 bar which is located in a plantation house. When you do, make sure you ask for a Suzy Special, which is a Bloody Mary with an Antiguan twist.

6. You can join several tastings

Of course, if you’re heading to the Caribbean, you’re thinking about food. Well, Jumby Bay Island Antigua delivers. The resort provides Afternoon Tea, cooking classes to replicate at home, Rum tastings, and even wine tastings – so your taste buds will be in for a real treat.

7. All activities and water sports are included

Once you’re done relaxing in the pools, you can take to the crystal waters for an action-packed adventure. The aquatic activities include water skiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, sail boating and snorkelling. So don’t forget your goggles!

8. There is a wildlife conservation to protect endangered turtles and sheep

In order to preserve the natural beauty and indigenous species here, there is the Hawksbill Turtle Project that helps animals to survive and thrive when they come to the island to nest. You will also see the Black-Headed Persian Sheep at the Wildlife Sanctuary and spot tropical birds like the Blue Pelican.

9. You can lounge on a hammock or in a thatched bohio on the pristine beaches

Take a step onto the white-powder sand amongst the palm trees, where you can relax on a hammock or sip a cocktail at the bar. Pasture Bay Beach is a secluded crescent of wild beauty, where you can dip your toes in the turquoise waters and spot marine and birdlife. Look out for the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtles.

There are three pools at the resort. The Veranda Pool is a family-friendly vibe where you can do your laps in a tropical garden setting. The Jumby Bay Pool is an infinity pool that cascades towards the ocean - the place to go for a relaxed atmosphere. The other infinity pool is located at the Grill Bar, which is the perfect spot for taking a relaxing dip before grabbing a bite to eat.

11. Relax for the evening by watching a film on the beach

Movie fan? Sit back and recline on one of the comfy loungers whilst a film is projected onto the big screen. Grab a box of popcorn and watch classic films featuring Bogart or James Bond under the twinkling stars with the sand between your toes. Paradise.

Just 15-minutes from the resort, on the mainland, is the Cedar Valley Golf Course. It’s a stunning golf course that first opened in 1977, located in the hills of Antigua. You can also get golfing lessons for an additional cost.
