The villa is a restored 15th-century Franciscan monastery that has been overlooking Croatia’s Dalmatian coast for centuries. Having been renovated, Lopud 1483 has opened its doors to guests for private stays, events, and exclusive use.

        Refectory

        Dine in the Refectory and marvel at the heavy walnut table dating back to the 1550s, while enjoying one of Francesca’s favourite art pieces - a wonderful painting by Franco Maria Prettii of the liberation of St Peter from 1645. The food is lovingly prepared and customised by your private chef.

        Enjoy renaissance and contemporary art

        The Thyssen-Bornemisza family have amassed a collection of art that spans the 13th to the 21st century. It’s said to be the second-largest collection after the British Royal Family. You’ll notice it dotted around the grounds and the villa's interior.

        Wellness plays a prominent role within the LOPUD 1483 experience. Explore the medicinal garden, start your day with yoga, relax in the sauna and keep up your fitness routine at the gym. Meditation and spa treatments are available upon request.
         

        Explore the Elaphitis

        The car-free island of Lopud and its surroundings are yours to explore. The villa concierge can arrange complimentary boat trips around the Elaphiti Islands, including snorkelling in the blue caves of Kolocep. Hire kayaks or paddleboards or cycle to Šunj Beach.

        LOPUD 1483's idyllic location has the sea right on the doorstep and a rustic settlement nearby. The villa is set on the northernmost tip of the car-free Croatian island of Lopud, right in the heart of the Elaphiti Islands. This car-free policy keeps the natural beauty of the island and makes its experience even more surreal. Follow the numerous island paths through lush vegetation on foot or by bicycle and enjoy the sheer tranquillity and peace the island offers.

        You can get to LOPUD 1483 by ferry from Dubrovnik in under an hour but the quickest (and most exciting!) way to get there is by speedboat. It takes just 20 minutes and you can arrange it through the villa.
        Rujana Bergam Marković was the architect and interior designer behind the restoration. Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza was the creative advisor.
        The villa does not have a swimming pool but you have easy step access to the sea, a spa with a sauna and the option to hire kayaks and paddle to the nearby beaches.
