        Exceptional accommodation

        Standard Room

        Facing Mt. Hekla you have amazing volcano views when staying in a Standard Room. The two twin beds that can be found here ensure holidaying friends are in their element, however they can be joined upon request if you’re a couple wanting to experience Iceland. 

        Deluxe Room

        The cosy Deluxe Room features wood panelling, modern décor and the choice of either a king-size bed or two twins. Bathrooms include complimentary toiletries as well as a bath and shower combination and a sofa bed can be added upon request for an additional travel buddy.

        Designed around each of the seven continents, the suites at Hotel Rangá make a statement. Whether you want to surround yourself with traditional features or unwind in something more modern the suites are decorated with unique furniture and top-notch facilities throughout.

        Tuck into seasonal Nordic fare that’s been created using the freshest ingredients against backdrops of East Rangá River. Families are also well catered for thanks to the simplified kids’ menu and tasty lunch boxes are also available to fuel your daily adventures.

        Enjoy breakfast daily from 7am to 10 am, sample lunchtime favourites like wild mushroom soup and fresh fish from 12 pm to 3 pm and indulge in the fine-dining a la carte menu which is inspired by traditional Icelandic cuisine from 6:30pm to 10pm.
         

        Rangá Bar

        Rangá Bar boasts one of the most extensive whisky collections in the whole of Iceland. Guests will delight in classic cocktails and signature mixed drinks, created by expert bartenders. Feeling peckish? There’s also a bar menu including burgers, sandwiches, soups and more.

        Located in the Icelandic countryside, far away from light pollution. If you are lucky, on a clear night you will be able to watch the northern lights in style as you soak in one of the hotel's geothermally heated hot tubs with a glass of bubbly – bliss!
         

        The Observatory

        Featuring an onsite observatory where guests can watch the solar system with two top-quality telescopes that ensure you get world-class visuals. In fact the hotel is also home to the biggest telescope in Iceland – an 18-inch reflector – a must if you want to stargaze in style.

        Adventure Awaits

        Whichever time of year you are visiting Iceland the spectacular natural surroundings provide a fun-filled itinerary of activities to enjoy. From hiking and horseback riding to helicopter tours and snowmobile excursions, there is a plethora of entertainment to choose from.

        Two-hours by car from Reykjavik, there is little to no light pollution at Hotel Rangá so your chances to see the Northern Lights are higher than elsewhere. Spectacular nature reserves are within driving distance if you want to surround yourself with the flora and fauna that call Iceland home, such as Dyrhólaey which is an hour away by car. Alternatively, head to Hekla Center for some culture and learn all about Mt. Hekla, just a 35-minute drive away.

        Yes, the hotel operates an aurora wake-up service which ensures guests never miss an appearance of the northern lights. Simply press a button on your in-room phone and receive a call whenever the northern lights appear throughout your stay.
        Because the sun almost never sets during Icelandic summer nights, the observatory is only open between the months of September and April, unless upon request. To stargaze, you will need clear skies with no chance of high clouds or rain, as moisture and high winds can damage the telescopes and obscure otherwise spectacular views. The observatory opens when the forecast shows that the sky will remain clear for several hours.
