Poets and playwrights, romantics and artists, so many creative souls are drawn to breathtaking Lake Garda and it's not hard to see why. Pretty towns and villages are found all along the shores of the crystal-clear waters, with soaring mountains creating a backdrop that completes the stunning scene. Beauty really is on another level here.

A favourite holiday destination thanks to its stunning scenery and calming setting, Italy’s largest lake lies about halfway between Venice and Milan. With the coastline stretching for around 32 miles and covering three regions (Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino-Alto Adige), there’s plenty to see and do.

There’s a town or village for every type of holidaymaker in Lake Garda, with a rich variation of sights and landmarks. Most offer a wonderful mix of historical interest, architecture, excellent food and wine, shopping, and a wealth of outdoor activities for adults and children alike. As such, Lake Garda is great for families.

In fact, this area of Italy is one of, if not the best, for theme parks. The most famous is called Gardaland Resort, which boasts over 35 rides and a LEGOLAND® Water Park. Other top theme parks include Caneva Aquapark, Parco La Quiete, and Movieland The Hollywood Park. Kids will also love the variety of watersports on offer in Lake Garda, and the wealth of beautiful pebble and sand beaches.

And for those seeking adventures and excursions, Lake Garda is the perfect playground. Dive into activities such as wine tasting, cycling, horse riding, mediation, boat trips, windsurfing, hill trekking, rock climbing, and much more besides. Take to the windswept waters to the north of the lake, or lap up the romantic, rambling vineyards in the south. Whichever area of Lake Garda you choose to visit, you’re guaranteed scenic vistas all the way.
