Chill out in the Snow Igloos or take in the amazing views when in the Glass Igloos. If that wasn’t enough there’s also Kelo-Glass Igloos which are an amalgamation of the Glass Igloos and the log chalets. Larger options boast private saunas, fireplaces and kitchenettes, too.
Available to stay in from the end of August through to April, the Glass Igloos give you the chance to relish the Northern Lights directly from your bed on a clear sky. The two-person igloos also have a toilet and the option of an extra bed with saunas and showers available in a separate building. Alternatively, if you’re part of a larger group then the four-person igloos are more spacious and also feature an ensuite shower.
The Log Chalets are ideal if you’re after the quintessential stay in Finland. Varying in space to accommodate up to 10 people, families and larger groups are sure to be in their element. Furnishings are inspired by the wild surroundings, with a fireplace and a sauna found in each option.
With the Gold Digger’s Chalet standing further away from the hotel then the rest of the accommodation, this choice promises tranquility and serenity. Located on the riverbanks, the sound of rushing water is all you’ll hear. There’s a private sauna to get cosy in when the sun sets, and there’s also a kick sled in the front yard so you can get to the main hotel quickly.

Trails and seasonal visits to the Northern Lights are very popular here, however be sure that the sky is clear and you are travelling between the months of September and October, as well as February through to March, to catch a glimpse.

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort boasts five restaurants to tantalise your tastebuds. Two are open to all guests while a further three cater to large groups and private events specifically. The two public restaurants serve delicious Lappish cuisine with fresh ingredients used in every dish. Guests can either enjoy a meal at the traditional Restaurant Kelo in the East Village or the more modern Restaurant Aurora in the West Village which also boasts a fantastic glass igloo bar where up to 50 guests can enjoy drinks under the arctic sky.

With three on-site smoke saunas you can detox your mind, body and soul before heading out on the various excursions that are able to be booked through the hotel.
