Brave the dark at the Night Safari

If you’re looking for a different and exciting way to spend your Singaporean evenings with family, friends or your better half, give the bar a miss and head to Night Safari. Singapore’s only evening venue for animal spotting, you can get the thrill of your life as you mingle with both crowds and creatures in the dark.

First opened in 1994, this magical reserve was the first in the world to solely showcase nocturnal wildlife. Set among 35 hectares of rainforest habitat, friendlier creatures are given free reign of the park while its more dangerous inhabitants are kept safely enclosed behind barriers. Overall, there are 2,500 residents here, comprising more than 130 different species including endangered and indigenous ones such as the Asian elephant, Malayan tapir and Malayan Tiger. In the two aviaries watch Malayan flying foxes and squirrels glide by or try to spot the Australian Wallaby.

The walking trails allow you to get to the more out-of-the-way enclosures such as the Leopard Trail and Fishing Cat Trail, both of which take you on an authentic jungle trekking experience in the dark. Feet getting tired? No problem, explore the area on wheels with a 35-minute tram ride that includes live commentary by English-speaking guides.

For an especially VIP experience, book a private tour of the park with the Safari Adventure Tour Package. With a personal buggy and guide, you’ll hear thrilling insider tales of the animals on show and see exclusive sights courtesy of your knowledgeable tour staff.

WINGED BOOTS WISDOM

Make your safari a party to remember with the Gourmet Safari Express, an award-winning dining experience onboard the moving tram. Revel in the indulgence of a mouthwatering, five-course, candlelit dinner finished off with a round of mocktails.
