Apotek Hotel by Keahotels is the perfect base for exploring Iceland. Previously known as the Reykjavik Apothecary, the five-storey is now bursting with luxury from the lobby right through to the top floor. There are 45 rooms and suites to choose from and each boast fantastic amenities including Molton Brown toiletries and a flat screen television. Not only that, but black out curtains and insulated windows in every choice ensure a restful night.
 
Lunch and dinner are served at the hotel’s onsite restaurant and are sure to please the palate. Minke whale, beef sandwiches and lamb rump steak are just some of what’s available on the extensive menu, with every taste and craving sure to be satisfied. Found in the same space as the hotel’s restaurant here you can enjoy a few drinks with loved ones and take in the relaxing ambience of the venue. Staff act as ‘pharmacists’ and you can choose from a menu of drinks split into painkillers, stimulants, tranquillisers and non-alcoholic placebos. Each of the cocktails have inventive names and ingredients such as ‘The Grapest Martini’ and ‘Hendrick’s Demise.’
