Bear Grylls to open survival academy in Ras Al Khaimah

The Bear Grylls Survival Academy on Jebel Jais is currently scheduled to open in 2020 and will offer a chance for all ages and fitness levels to immerse themselves in a world of outdoor adventure. Thrill seekers will learn extreme survival techniques, straight from the experiences of Bear Grylls, which have already been a hit at more than 20 locations around the world. 

The offerings include half-day, 24 and 48-hour courses designed for both families and the more hardcore adults out there. They’ll incorporate everything from learning how to make fire in the wilderness and building emergency shelters to practising the best ways to use a knife for survival and being trained on navigation techniques. Rock climbing and extreme weather survival will also make an appearance on the variety of courses. There will even be team building activities for corporate customers – we couldn’t think of any better excuse to escape the boardroom, can you? 

Run by professionals, trained by the brainchild of Bear Grylls, the survival academy courses will conclude in a wilderness expedition designed to put the likely-tired participants’ new-found skills to the ultimate test. This one is kept a secret until the big day, though…
