Winged Boots x Maddox Gallery Shoot Day 2023  

Shoot Day 2023 began with a welcome from Winged Boots Co-CEO David Ox and Jay Rutland, Creative Director of Maddox Gallery, accompanied by a round of bacon sandwiches and coffee.  

Dylan from Purdey’s Royal Berkshire Shooting School then took our guests through the rules (safety first!) before dividing them up in teams and getting them hyped for the game.  

We had a brilliant session of shooting with a short break for refreshments and networking. After a fun morning on the grounds, it was time for cocktails or champagne followed by a three-course meal, speeches and a raffle.  

We finished with a soiree on the River Thames at Pangbourne. The day was very well received by everyone who attended. One of our guests, Richard, commented: “Thank you so much for inviting me to what was a very special event. Typical of Winged Boots, it was organised and executed to perfection. A huge thank you again and for providing us with such a memorable day.” 

As for our Shoot Day winners, congratulations to Ross Hewlett who was the best shot overall. The winning team with Winged Boots Co-CEO Dan Ox was Nice Butts (interesting name!). The losers for the third year in a row was O&O Go Apes. Better luck next time! 

Shoot Day 2023 sponsors and prizes  

Even if shooters missed the target, they couldn’t miss the large signs we had featuring all the amazing hotels in Atlantis and One&Only’s portfolio.  

One&Only also sponsored our bespoke drinks van which offered signature cocktails and mocktails from resorts around the world. These were:  

• The Cape Town, a fruity rum cocktail from One&Only Cape Town 
• The Gisakura Lemon Leaf, featuring gin and black tea from One&Only Nyungwe House, Rwanda 
• The Gorilla’s Nest, a decadent gin and rose cocktail from One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, Rwanda 
• The Pink Dragon, a tequila and ginger ale-based cocktail from One&Only Desaru Coast, Malaysia  
• Nojito, a refreshing alcohol-free mocktail from One&Only Portonovi, Montenegro 
• Mango Mule, an alcohol-free mango-based mocktail from One&Only Desaru Coast 

One&Only also gave away seven amazing holidays in our raffle. The lucky winners will be heading to their five-star resorts in either Cape Town, Rwanda, Montenegro or Desaru Coast! 

One of our other sponsors, Aston Martin donated a track day for the new DB12, the world’s first super tourer which was released just a mere few weeks prior to Shoot Day. Guests could see this swish new supercar in the flesh too as one was brought along for the event.  

Our remaining raffle prizes were four tickets for our private box at the O2 and a print from Maddox Gallery by Cooper.  

In support of Haven House Children’s Hospice  

We’re passionate about rewarding our clients with a fun day out. However, the real reason why we host Shoot Day is to raise money for Haven House Children’s Hospice who provide vital specialist care for children with life-threatening and life-altering conditions.  

We would like to say a special thank you to our generous guests and sponsors who all dipped into their pockets in support of Haven House. Together we raised £9,000 for this amazing charity!
