DINING

A Royal Malewane experience is synonymous with an absolutely unparalleled culinary journey. With a menu that is always evolving to enhance guest experience, as well as your choice of a number of breathtaking settings in which to dine, every meal here will be one to remember. Executive Chef, Brandon Souris and his tirelessly working team present a range of international dishes which can be personalised at a moment’s notice for those with dietary restrictions.

But it’s not just the food you’ll love about your dining experience here at Royal Malewane – we haven’t even mentioned the drinks yet! This accommodation is one of the best places in Greater Kruger to indulge if you have a love for wine or whisky. An extensive wine list showcases the very best of South African blends which can be perfectly paired to your meal with the expert help of the on-site wine stewards. As for the whisky, need we say more than the fact that there are more than 60 different vintages?

LEISURE

Make your stay one for the history books by taking part in one or more of the amazing activities offered by the adventure-filled Mpumalanga location. The pace and style of your time in the African wilderness is left entirely up to you as there are leisure time pursuits to meet every need. Breathtaking game drives, walks and viewings are as standard during your stay at the Royal Malewane, with complimentary expert trackers and guides. Spotting the Big Five isn’t the only thing to do in these parts though, elephant interaction, helicopter flights, golf and loads more thrills and spills are waiting for you.

Get in with the club

A short distance from Royal Malewane is the Leopard Creek, the place to go for a great game of golf. A masterpiece of design and engineering, the 505-meter par-five 13th golf course is a delightful challenge for both amateurs and professionals alike. Right on the edge of Kruger, the area is scattered with scenic vistas of water features, rolling greens and breathtaking landscaping techniques.

This golfing experience will be set apart from any you’ve had before with its stunning surroundings and chances of spotting some fantastic wildlife while you play. Get the adrenaline flowing in your game as you keep an eye out for the legendary crocs in the Crocodile River below the edge of the green – don’t worry, the course is well protected from every would-be animal invader so you can admire them from a safe distance.

Giddy Up

Now, you may be thinking – horseback riding in a wildlife park, are you mad? But don’t worry, the opportunity for a safari on horseback isn’t in the centre of the Kruger reserve and is actually a little further afield in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate.

Home to a number of fascinating but far from dangerous animals, the estate has a variety of rare birds and peaceful creatures to delight you, such as giraffe, kudu, wildebeest and impala. And what better way to take in the stunning land and all its inhabitants than from a comfortable perch on a horse? Beginners can ride for up to an hour and more advanced riders are permitted up to two hours of riding.

Escape to the spa

Need a break from all the walking safaris and dips in the pool? Royal Malewane has got the perfect solution – a spa break. It’s no joke, there really is a spa in the middle of this African wilderness, and what a spa it is! The Waters of Royal Malewane Bush Spa is award-winning and completely fabulous.

In harmony with its natural surroundings, this eco space focuses on holistic, indigenous and natural treatments for all your ailments and needs. So, if you need to get into the holiday mood and do some relaxation techniques or just want those plane-journey knots massaged out, this is the place to go. If you want a bit more of an active treatment then why not pop into the state-of-the-art gym which comes equipped with a heated pool, steam room, African baths and private casitas? It’s the ideal spot for a bit of me time where you can keep up the good work of your fitness regime.
