Let us at Winged Boots pose you a promise. If you’re not blissfully in love at the stage you arrive at the reception desk of this paradise-esque hotel, we reckon there’s a sure-fire chance you will be by the time you leave. There’s a reason this gorgeously luxurious Banyan pad regularly makes its way into wedding magazines and tops the list of honeymoon choices. It’s because it absolutely oozes romance.
Not that you need another reason to put it to the top of your wish-list, but we thought we’d add the slight history lesson for you music and movie fans… You’ll be interested to know that prior to Seychelles’ official independence in the mid-seventies, the beach and the land this great venue nestles on, was actually owned by none other than Beatles legend George Harrison, and actor Peter Sellers!

Privacy, pool and panorama. That’s your accommodation summary covered! Without a doubt, the Banyan villas are a bliss-out experience, making them all the more wonderful for couples and honeymooners deserving of an idyllic and stylish escape. Each accommodation has its own plunge pool, and you can pick from one of six categories, which will grant you a varying view or room format. All are very generous in size and the décor is indulgent and contemporary.
A two-person villa with a gorgeously dressed king size bed, a wonderful ocean view, and additions like a private pool, veranda with sun loungers – and even an indoor sunken tub. You’ll be located at the foot of the bay, and with all the privacy and tranquillity you could wish for.
Unlimited spa treatments are part of this indulgent option, allowing you to while away your days having massages by the pool on your expansive private veranda patio. The format of the villa also includes a pavilion with living and dining area, plus a private pool and dipping pool.
If you’re picking a resort for a honeymoon, you may not want a room with capacity for five people and a total size of more than 500 square metres, but hey – this villa is truly stunning!
With your ocean view and open air living pavilion, you’ll also have a free-form infinity pool and a steam room into the mix. Jaw-dropping, in our humble opinion.
Surrounded by lush palm trees and accompanied by vistas of cerulean waters, the Ocean View Pool Villa is a luxurious Indian Ocean haven. Interiors are traditional and cosy, with details such as wickered furniture and animal statues throughout. Boasting a king-size bed along with a private swimming pool and sun loungers, this choice is wonderful for couples and honeymooners that are after their own slice of the Seychelles.
Privately located, the Banyan is at the southern end of Mahé, and is about half an hour away from the main international airport. Some guests report that because of the beach positioning, it can be a little choppy for watersports, so just bear it in mind if that’s high on your wish list. Plenty of cultural and visit options nearby.
As, if and when you can tear yourself away from your private pool or the exceptional spa experience here, there’s a whole host of culinary options to tantalise your taste buds. The vibe varies from eatery to eatery, but you’re pretty much guaranteed a stunning view of the ocean.
From buffet breakfasts to light bites at lunchtime, all-day dining is greatly appreciated at Au Jardin Depices. Team the great food with terrific views of the beautiful blue ocean and you’ll soon understand why guests return for more than one meal.

An evening setting, this is regarded as Banyan’s Signature Restaurant. The cooking is based on traditional methods from Southeast Asia, and the attention to detail is simply flawless. It’s little wonder this restaurant has scooped a number of awards.

While you may not be a pamper-obsessive who craves regular spa treatments in your normal daily life, you’d be crazy not to experience the rejuvenating hands of the staff at Banyan Tree’s Spa!
You’ll find active options like tennis and swimming within the hotel’s offering itself, while you’ll be able to book further sporty pursuits with the help of the resort team.
A Banyan Spa is a whole lot more than a mere add-on to the hotel experience. This is not the kind of resort where they’ve merely added a beautician to keep the handful of guests satisfied with a selective treatment menu.
No – Banyan takes its spa approach so seriously it has a dedicated academy process through which it puts its staff. No wonder it’s therefore scooped accolades from the likes of Passport Magazine and in the World Luxury Spa Awards. We recommend the Banyan Day package for an all-out indulgent. Well, you know what they say. In for a penny and all that jazz!

You don’t have to be a green-fingered goddess to see the beauty in the Botanical Garden nearby. It’s a two mile trip away, but it’s well worth it if you are wanting to score up something more on the activity sheet than just laying by the pool or having the occasional massage.
As well as all kinds of plant species, you’ll find a tortoise park and a rainforest walk. History buffs may wish to know it was established by Queen Victoria back in 1901 and is home to Coco De Mer, the world-renowned palm tree.
